My Newest Slouch Hat-Made With the Knifty Knitter
I created my own knittedĀ slouch hat pattern for the knifty knitter but the first time I made it, I only did about 8 inches on the circular loom before decreasing and
crocheting the edging and I thought this was too short so I decided make the pattern again, knitting about 9-10 inches to get more “slouch” in it. I am making this beret out of Sensations Angel Hair yarn to match a triangle scarf I just completed. This yarn is supersoft and kind of fuzzy, if you haven’t used it before, and makes great hats and scarves for cold weather.
You can find my knifty knitter slouch hat pattern here.
It will be a great day to work on a knitting project like this slouch hat, as it is snowing again! Our daughter had her baby girl this past Sunday and I was babysitting their 3 year old for a couple days. Just as we were about to head off to pre-school, the power went out – probably do to the weather.
Today’s snow is just a light dusting, I think, and it should pass through by afternoon. Nothing like the 12 inches we had recently.
Luckily, the power came back on by 10 am so school wasn’t cancelled.
The new baby comes home today!
Hope everyone enjoys the knitted slouch hat pattern. If you make this pattern and want to send me some photos, I’d love to post them, along with a link to your own blog or website, if you have one.
Update: Finished the newest slouch hat and I ended up not putting the crocheted edging on it. Once you have it on, the curling at the brim, which happens when knitting on the knifty knitter, smooths out against your head anyway – so the crocheted edging wasn’t necessary.
So if you want to knit this slouch hat on the knifty knitter, you can decide whether or not you want to add the edging. It does add to the pattern to do it. I’d suggest making your knifty knitter part before decreasing no more than 9 inches to allow for decreasing and adding the edging.
