I love the knifty knitter and wanted to learn new stitches so I recently purchased a great little book, Learn New Stitches on the Circle Loom by Anne Bipes. This book contains nine

patterns for the knifty knitter, including a mobius shawl (mobius patterns are VERY popular right now), a diamond lace shawl, a bordered scarf and a top woven hat, all of which are really pretty and use the stitches taught in the book.

If you’re new to knitting with the circle loom and want to expand your patterns beyond the basic stitches, this book will make a great addition to your knitting library.

Here are the knifty kntter stitches you can learn from this handy circle loom pattern book:

  • Garter Stitch
  • Loom Weaving
  • Popcorn Bobble Stitch (there is a cute hat pattern in the book using this stitch)
  • Eyelet stitch, which you can also use to make I-Cord
  • Seed Stitch
  • Checkerboard Stitch
  • Diamond Lace Stitch
  • Shell Stitch
  • Chevron Stitch

There are lots of large photos in the book, with step by step, easy to understand directions so even those of us who are instructionally challenged, can easily see how to do these stitches. The photos of the finished projects are wonderfully inspirational too. The patterns are rated at intermediate or experienced skill level but with a little practice, you can master these stitches so you are at that level too.

Learn New Stitches on the Circle Loom received a 5 star rating from 16 of 18 readers on Amazon, where the cost is only $9.95 (qualifies for free shipping with $25 purchase too!) Most readers recommended the book as being easy to use. The other two of the 18 readers gave the book a 4 star rating. I have to admit, I rarely ever buy anything on Amazon anymore without that 5 star rating.

Once you master these basic knifty knitter pattern stitches, you can easily use them to create many beautiful patterns, including baby blankets, shawls and afghans.
