first freeform project. Once I get all the pieces made, then I can contemplate how to put them all together into a cohesive baby blanket.

I realized, after looking at Prudance Mapstone’s website again, that many of her pieces are small and how they are put together makes the freeform piece beautiful. I found out my daughter is having a girl so will probably put it together with a crocheted stitch in pink yarn.

I’d actually started out to have the same freeform pieces with some lavender in it. However, when I looked at the photos I took for this knitting blog, the lavender didn’t look right.

When I started this freeform piece, too, I didn’t know if my daughter was having a boy or a girl so I was thinking I should add some yellow and green so it could be for either. Now I can go with the pink.

Not really sure what I’m doing here, I’m just going on instinct. It would be nice to take a freeform knitting class to learn more about the basics but I’ve never seen one around this area.
